RIGHTS OF MENTALLY ILL

Mental Health act was introduced in Rajya sabha in 1981. The attitude of society towards the mentally ill has changed considerably and slowly the stigma associated with it is overcoming. Mental disease is curable but proper treatment is necessary for complete mental health. The main objectives are to formulate procedures admission of mentally ill patients in mental hospital. And discharge of patient and also give protection to mentally ill persons. Then we have to provide facilities for treatment to them that is very essential for treatment. Social isolation should be avoided. Then provide psychological support to the patient, and also we can improve patient mental health status. Different types of therapies are there for mental ill such as Diversional therapy, recreational therapy, individual psychotherapy, Behavioral therapy, family therapy, play therapy etc. The family members should give full support to that patient. The psychological support will improve disease recovery and also prevent relapse. Music therapy also is there. It will divert the mind from tension and gives relief
