Sleep apnea is a condition wherein it causes disturbances in breathing while sleeping.  In other words, it is a feeling of breathlessness that may hinder a good night’s sleep. Here when a person is asleep, his breathing involuntarily stops and resumes after a brief amount of time. Some of the most common symptoms of sleep apnea in adults are loud snoring, morning headache and waking up suddenly in response to troubled breathing at night. Understanding sleep apnea causes is essential to initiate suitable correction method to this problem. Scientific studies suggest that overweight people and those who smoke or drink are susceptible to breathing problems while asleep.  A recent study suggests that sleep apnea causes weight gain. It also causes high blood pressure.  The exact cause of sleep apnea is important to resolve the issue by proper treatment. Decreasing weight and staying away from alcohol and smoking are recommended for those suffering from obstructive sleep apnea.
